The Insect Hotel & Beetle Bank
The Insect Hotel was created in 2007/08 as a place to leave untidy, comprising a variety of wood, stone, tiles, logs, bricks and rubble to create a warren of mini-spaces into which insects could find shelter and find a safe space to hibernate.
Apart from planting a few additional ferns amongst the 'rubble' and the more recent addition of the
Bumblebee Nest, it has largely been left untouched since its 'creation'.
Like many of the wildlife habitats created for wildlife in the garden, the insect hotel is not disturbed to see what creatures are making use of the habitat. So for the time being at least, so there are no survey records of it.
